Interior Magazine (nº 217)

In its constant expansion through the most central cities of Europe, the British chain Generator has one of its most interesting designer hostels in Madrid. And it is that in its commitment to transform unusual spaces by dressing them with a retro-industrial aesthetic, the company did not want to miss the opportunity to occupy a building built in 1930, an old gas station. Its privileged location, next to the frenetic Gran Vía, and its design by the award-winning Canadian studio The Design Agency, together with the work of the Spanish Contractart, convert Generator Madrid in a very good accommodation option in the city. Natural woods, marble, granite, metals and aged leather are the materials that have served to invade the place with a fusion of current elements and vintage pieces. All playing with the skylights in the lobby, the large windows in the lounge & breakfast and the high ceilings in the lobby, in addition to the leather headboards and the red pipes in its 126 rooms.
