Postal No. 5

Serial number: 35114
What would one get if they crossed a Blickensderfer with a Franklin and a Hammond?… A Postal, of course! William Prehn Quentell (1861 – 1932), the inventor of the Postal, had few reservations about borrowing innovations from more established brands. Number 3 was the base model, while number 5, with its raised scale, was the premium model. It is theorized that even numbered models were designated for export. In the 7 years that the Postal Typewriter Company was in business, it produced around 30.000 typewriters between all its models.
